As a holistic medicine, acupuncture addresses you at all levels of your being--body, mind and spirit--rather than seeing you just as a machine in need of repair.  If the focus remains at the symptomatic level, often the underlying reason for the imbalance will remain unresolved.  No one symptom indicates the same imbalance for all people: your headache is different from your spouse's headache, from your co-worker's headache, from your child's headache, etc.  Five clients with headaches will be treated individually because each is a unique person with a unique body and set of life experiences.  For example, a 50 year old man born of alcoholic parents in the Northeastern US has a totally different makeup than a 25 year old woman adopted by a Latino family in the Midwest.  One size does not fit all, and there is no one point that addresses everyone's headaches.

By treating you at a deeper level, acupuncture seeks to comprehensively remedy the true underlying condition rather than offer a temporary fix.  For this reason, acupuncture is effective for a wide range of conditions, and can support a person in a much broader way than strictly physical.

The efficacy of acupuncture has been endorsed by both the National Institutes of Health and the World Health Organization.  The NIH advocates acupuncture as having extremely low possibility and number of side effects.  The WHO recognizes acupuncture for the treatment of over 50 common medical conditions.
